Reading through Chapter Three of my novel. Clarifying, proofing, etc., etc., etc. Came across: "Her mother instinctively put her hair on Felice's." It's supposed to say, "Her mother instinctively put her hand on Felice's." Had me in hysterics. Had to share with someone.
Yes, sounds like some bizarre Rapunzel tale... the hair and all, you know. :)
ReplyDeleteIt's actually kind of fun to find those bizarre typos in your work. Lightens the whole editing process. Of course my kids wonder why I'm laughing at the computer.
ReplyDeleteI wish someone would put some hair on me. Don't mind me, I'm folicly challenged.
ReplyDeleteI'm in the same editing mode. My funniest? I typed pooped for popped. Yeah, I had a good laugh at that one.
ReplyDeleteI wish I could sympathize, but I don't make typos.
ReplyDeleteI can add to that (maybe you could leave it as is and add it to the character's makeup)--I am a shedder. The hair ends up everywhere. Sometimes my husband comments on the hair in his food. Last night my 8 year old daughter said, "I think I have a hair. Maybe that's mom's secret ingredient."
ReplyDeleteThere are places I'd like hair removed...for good! :O ;)
ReplyDeleteI made blueberry banana muffins over the weekend and... of course, we ALL know that bananas get that black, stringy quality when they're cooked. We ALL know that, DON'T we?
ReplyDeleteMy 8 year old didn't know that, and loudly exclaimed she had a hair in her muffin. For the rest of the weekend the name was changed to, "Hair Muffins."
It's enough to make your stomach roil, but that didn't stop anyone from eating them.
