Knitting Pic
So I've mentioned my knitting. Here is my work thus far. The green square was my first piece. It was meant to be a kitchen washcloth, but I used the wrong material (in my early and naive days), so now it is a trivet (or potholder depending on my immediate need). The colorful square is the correct cotton material and is my new washcloth! The red sparkly fur is for a scarf, but the material keeps falling apart and the scarf is turning out wider than I intended, so I may start over. The needles used for this material are thick (size 11 for those of you who know anything about this). Pretty soon, I'll be up to hats and sweaters!
Oh, I did not knit the plastic placemats in case you were wondering.

Wow, that looks like fun. My grandma used to knit and tried to teach me once. I'd love to have the time to try and pick it up again. Seems really relaxing.
I agree. It does look relaxing. I don't think I have time to relax.
It is relaxing. We'll see how long it lasts. I have a habit of picking up new habits.
I'm so proud of you, Heather--A PHOTO POST! WAHOOOO! :)
I was going to have to kill you if you were able to knit a vinyl polka-dotted placemat, though. That's knitting skill gone WILD!
Cute knittage. I imagine any dish washed by that cloth would be a happy dish.
Now I need a picture of you in the black shirt. (I'm assuming you're still wearing it, since it was too cute to take off.)
I can crochet a bit, but I can't knit!
Looks great!!
I love these! They're great. (Okay, so how do we say "placemat" in Hebrew? :)
Since I shower in the new black shirt, I figure it's clean! No pics, though (yet).
LL - I know that m'com is Hebrew for place (Larry the cucumber sings "Oh, where is my hairbrush" and hairbrush is similar to comb, and I answer, it's in my place. Convoluted, yes, but it worked!). Sorry, don't know mat. So close... and no studying today, no writing, no nuttin fun. Cleaning. All day (and a break to teach piano). Yuck. (But I've got my music. Jamie Cullum for the bathrooms and U2 for miscelleneous.)
Oh, and Mich. I tried crocheting, but I threw the yarn across the room with each attempt. Not so relaxing.
Wow, those are cool. I'd love to learn, but I fear I have no patience for it. I gave up sewing because I can't sew in a straight line.
I can crochet blankets but knitting is out of my league... that fuzzy material looks fun to work with :)
when do you have time for knitting?
curious.
personally, i think crocheting is much harder than knitting, but i think this is different for different people. as far as patience, i have none for regular sewing (or for crocheting) or for much in terms of domesticity, but knitting, i can do. i knit at night (as opposed to nick at nite) when hubby and i watch tv. i did start the scarf over last night.
I'd like to place an order for twelve knitted vinyl placemats, please. Payment upon delivery.
Yeah, I'll get those placemats right out. Start watching your mail.
